Annual Action Themes

Hoosiers are on the move toward a safer and more sustainable future.  Sustainable Indiana 2016 is tracking, promoting and celebrating this momentum.  Part of what we do is to focus on a “mass action theme” each year leading up to and including the Bicentennial year of 2016.  In 2012, we recognized and celebrated the expansion of gardening across the state.  In 2013, the growing use of Indiana’s trails by hikers and bikers took center stage.  In 2015, we began planting Bicentennial “Trees of Hope” commemorating our State’s anniversary and encouraging Hoosiers to become advocates for forests. Now in 2016, we are celebrating the many ways we can protect our rivers and waterways and the organizations leading the fight for clean water.
